Connections in full flight
Last night we were driving through KwaNyuswa (things I told Mum I wouldn’t do #64) to watch the Connections Zulu Choir rehearse. They were AMAZING. On the way there and back though, I noticed all these tents. They were kind of like marquees, with stripes on the side like circus tents. Occasionally they were lit up inside in such a way you could see the silhouettes of people moving about inside of them. I probably saw 5 in the 10 or so minutes it took to get to the rehearsal venue. I had no idea what they were for, and was quite genuinely puzzled. I found out they were actually funerals. That’s right, 10 minutes, 5 funerals, just on the stretch of road we passed through. Intense.
